Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, August 8, 2012 – 3:30 pm

The meeting was called to order at 3:30 PM by Chairman Wimpory.

The Selectmen reviewed and signed the following items:

3:30 PM: Review of Documents and Correspondence
At 3:30 the Board began reviewing A/P.
3:40 PM: Paving Bid Selection
The Board received four paving bids: Continental Paving bid $73.85 per ton; Lane Construction Company bid $78.25 per ton; Brox Industries Inc. bid $68.39 per ton; GMI Asphalt Paving Specialists bid $73.70 per ton and .69cents per square yard for the reclamation of 8200 square yards of road.
The Board received Supervisor Murray’s final recommendation from the Town Administrator. Supervisor Murray picked Brox Industries and discussed with Brox the parameters of the Warrant Article passed at Town Meeting. Supervisor Murray indicated he and Brox agreed on payment to equal $125,000 based on tonnage. There would be a second invoice for additional shimming that would come from the highway Road Maintenance in the approximate amount of $6,500.
On a motion made by the Chair, and seconded by Selectwoman Davidson, the Board voted 3-0 to accept the recommendation of the DPW Supervisor and award the Paving Bid to Brox Industries.
The Administrator informed the Board that due to mobilization schedules that Brox had requested to start paving Thursday the 9th of August and planned to finish Friday the 10th of August. The Board expressed a concern about the weather.
3:45 PM: Adjournment
There being no further business, Selectman Wimpory moved to adjourn the meeting. Selectwoman Day seconded. The motion carried 3-0.
