Selectmen’s Meeting Minutes
Monday, December 3, 2007

Present: Chairman, Aaron Kullgren; Selectwoman, Karen Day; Selectman, Jarvis Adams
Others Present: Tax Collector, Kathy Valliere; Administrative Assistant, Deb Davidson Taking minutes
2008 Budget - Selectmen asked Mrs. Valliere to meet to discuss her proposed 2008 budget. Kullgren discussed he had briefly met with Deputy Tax Collector, Pam Crook to discuss wages and hours. If wages change, the Board must be included in the decision and they want to know why. Kullgren stated that Kathy was hired as the tax collector and the Board wants her to run the office, not the deputy.
Valliere responded that she thought when she was hired she was to hire a deputy to be educated. Mrs. Crook takes payments, processes them and deposits them at this time. Crook works three Thursday’s a month and Valliere works one. Wages were discussed. Valliere will keep Crook at $15.00/hour for the deputy position and cut her hours. There will be $3,000.00/year budgeted in 2008.
Tax Deeding - Valliere wanted to discuss the deeding of properties with the Board, she indicated the properties that should be deeded must be done as soon as possible, and some of these properties go back too far to continue to let go. The Town could receive the money, with the interest and then start receiving yearly taxes from the properties. A little more research will be done, but the properties will be tax deeded in 2008.
Selectmen thanked Valliere for speaking with them.
With no further business the meeting adjourned at 7:45, the next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, December 04, 2007 at 6:00 pm
