Greenfield Board of Selectmen/Budget Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
January 7th, 2005

Selectmen attended: Conrad B. Dumas, George Rainier

Points brought forth by the Budget Committee and discussed:

        Goal is to reduce the overall budget/tax impact by $400,000.00

        Suggested:      Freeze staff salaries/wages @ 2004 levels ($17,000.00 Savings)
                        Freeze purchase of new equipment (Truck & Police Cruiser)
No new road reconstruction warrant article ($40,000.00); also remove $40,000 from the highway budget for road reconstruction purposes.
No new position (i.e. additional hours for library or other depts..)
Bond Waste Water of 10 years
Use $150,000.00 from fund balance to reduce tax rate in 2005
No to Warrant Article 7 for rescue truck capital reserve fund.

Discussion followed on these points with the Board of Selectmen.  Police Chief Brian Giammarino argued for the cruiser replacement.
