Road Commission Minutes
Town of Greenfield, New Hampshire
January 27, 2016
Present: M. Steere-Chair, N. Nickerson and G. Russell - M. Merzi-unavailable; T. Bascom – out of town.
Meeting opened at 5:10 PM at Greenfield Town Office Building.
- Discussion of the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP); the Commission agreed to support the CIP at Town meeting.
- Suggest Highway Department reserves should include one for trucks and one for equipment.
- Scheduling of gravel road rebuilding/restoration. The Commission agreed that there should be scheduling and funding for gravel roads in the town similar to paving of roads.
- Replacement of DPW equipment, the Commission agrees that rebuilding of larger construction equipment (loader, grader, etc.) can be upgraded and certified at less cost through rebuilding. This should be checked out.
- School House Road remains closed?
- Maintenance – logbooks should be kept for each piece of equipment and each truck scheduling regular work and recording work done by date.
- We should sign up for NH Bridge aid, if not already done.
- Next meeting to be scheduled tentatively end of January.
