6:00 pm. Swamp Road site walk began:
DCrane led the Planning Board members for about 0.15 miles along the north side of Swamp Rd. He stated that Eversource plans to remove 21 trees on the north side of the road, of which about 10 meet the statutory definition of tree. He noted that these numbers are a worst case scenario. It was noticed by all that the majority of the trees to be removed were either dead or unhealthy. Also noted was the proposed locations of the five utility poles to be installed to service a new residence being constructed on the south side of the road.
DCrane stated that he will attempt to save, at least in part, a tall, healthy hemlock slated to be removed. A large pine tree behind the hemlock may also be spared. There is a decaying tree on the south side of the road’s edge that DCrane tagged during the site walk for removal. The tree removal is expected to be done sometime in May.
