OP 08-11-04
Oak Park Committee Minutes
Wednesday, August 11, 2004 @ 6:30 p.m.

Present Were:
Molly Anfuso
David Corliss

New Building Update:

Dave Corliss stated John Hopkins was working on the inside of the building so he could not make the meeting.  He is trying to get some of it ready to be able to use it for the Blue-B-Que.  There is no real date for expected completion, as volunteers are working it on.

Signage:

There have been dog waste signs posted at Oak Park in two locations to try to help the dog owners using the park to encourage them to pick up after their dog.  Plastic bags are located by the white shed.  Plans to relocate the sign and bags have been discussed.

Molly indicated she spoke to another person that was using the soccer field area for golfing purposes.  He indicated that he does not golf within the boundaries of the field, but drive from the behind on the side of the goals, as he knows how far the distances are.  Molly discussed with him doing something for the golfers on the other side of the park where it’s not being used too much.  He is willing to meet with her to go over some particulars.

Celtic Games Update:

No information was available at this time.

Blue B Que Update:

Plans for the Blue-B-Que are coming along.  David indicated that t-shirts have been ordered.  Volunteers start calling around this time.  If anyone knows of someone who would like to volunteer, let John Hopkins or David know.

David also indicated that both him and John are in the mindset that they will be bowing out of the committee once the last big project of the building is done. They will be willing to run the Blue-B-Que on an annual basis.  They have it down now that it is not any trouble doing it.

Other Business:

Molly indicated a new relationship has been formed with Pop Warner Football, who will be using Oak Park for three weeks in August for practice.  Since there is no outdoor lighting, it will not be used after that.  The rental was handled like the rental of the soccer field.

Other events that took place:
Calvary event.  All seemed to go well.  No problems were heard of.

Other events that are coming up at Oak Park:
Greenfield Harness and Drawbar annual tractor show      Sept  18
Oak Park Flea Market                                    Sept  25
Halloween Party                                 Oct    30

By Laws: No action

Meeting Ended: 7:10 p.m.
