Dear Municipal Officials & Emergency Responders,
Weather permitting, Eversource will be performing statewide air patrols of its transmission system this week, Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 14.
These aerial patrols are part of the company's routine inspection program for the maintenance of its transmission system. The aerial patrols involve a helicopter with an infrared camera that can detect excessive heat on transmission line components. This technology helps to identify the components that may possibly fail in the future and allows us to schedule a repair or replacement of those components, therefore improving electric system reliability.
If you know of residents who have horses or farm animals that may be sensitive to helicopter noise, please share this information with them. Thank you for your patience and understanding as Eversource conducts this important inspection work.
