Time Line for Annual Meeting
Town Meeting Date – Tuesday, March 13, 2007
Thursday – September 28, 2006 – Depts. receive 2007 budget packets
Friday - October 13, 2006 – Proposed budgets due to the Selectmen’s Office – with any warrant articles that may be proposed.
Thursday -October 19, 2006 – Board of Selectmen review submitted budgets (copies to be sent to Budget Advisory Committee)
Thursday – October 26, 2006 – Board of Selectmen meet with Department Heads – discuss changes made to your budgets and why they are needed.
Discuss any warrant articles that may be proposed in March
Week of November 13, 2006 – Budget Advisory Committee Members will be provided with a copy of proposed budgets & proposed warrant articles.
If needed Departments should meet independently within the next month with Budget Advisory Committee Members to discuss their proposed budgets
Thursday - December 7, 2006 – Board of Selectmen meet with Dept. Heads & Budget Advisory Committee to discuss proposed budgets
If needed, meet during the next week or two again with Selectmen and/or Budget Advisory Committee for more discussion on proposed budgets.
Wednesday – December 13, 2006 – Last day to accept petition to amend zoning ordinance or building code.
Friday – January 5, 2007 – First day to hold a Public Hearing on any bond or note issues over $100,000.00
Friday - January 12, 2007 - Annual Reports for 2006 Town Report Due.
Tuesday – January 23, 2007 – Notice local papers of Budget Hearing to be held on Thursday - February 8, 2007 at 6:30 PM
Tuesday - February 6, 2007 - Last day to accept petitioned warrant articles
(per RSA 39:3)
Departments must have warrant articles in by now!!!
Thursday - February 8, 2007 @ 6:30 pm - 2007 Budget Hearing to be held at the Town Office. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to discuss the 2007 proposed budget. Department heads are requested to answer questions about their budget.
Monday - February 26, 2007 – Warrant & Budget must be posted at all polling places and at Town Clerks office or town hall. Warrant shall state place, day and hour of election, hours polls are open & which items will be voted by ballot. RSA 39:5; 31:95; 669:2.
Monday - February 26, 2007 – Last day to hold public hearing on any bond or note issues over $100,000 (per RSA 33:8-a,I)
Tuesday - March 13, 2007 polls open 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM at the Meeting House for Town Meeting to vote on elected officials, zoning amendments & any ballot items, adjourn meeting to…..
Friday - March 16, 2007 @ 7:00 PM Town Meeting reconvenes to vote on warrant articles at the Meeting House. All newly elected town officials will be sworn in after the meeting.
