Notes for the May 15th 2012
Blueberry Jamboree Committee
Attendees: Agneta and Neal Brown, Katherine Heck, Lenny Cornwell, Carele Mayer,
Dorene Adams, Jane Winslow
We began the meeting by discussing where people could get information
about the Jamboree and applications. On the Town of Greenfield website there is
news and announcements for vendors. The notes from the committee meetings
will also be posted there.
Logistics for the committee:
Vendors: Animals, pony rides (need to find someone). Mike Borden and
boy scouts will do trash and sell fried dough, Historical Society will sell tickets for
their tractor raffle. The Blueberry Shop and the Welcome booth could be combined.
Sponsors: Dorene is working on getting sponsors for the Tee shirts. $75
for the back of the tee shirt. She not having much luck getting sponsors for the
place mats.
Entertainment: So far Dorene has Josh Boisverit and Leslie Vogel.
Goal/ Mission: Since we have the new equipment for the playground we
need to set new goals. This year we are going to work to get a large sign saying
Oak Park. Perhaps the date when it was first used. Also to improve the parking
area. We discussed spilt rail fences, or something to prevent driving or parking
on the track. The committee voted unanimously in agreement to accept these
goals.
Herbie Costume: Dorene has found the perfect Herbie Costume. Now we
need to find the perfect Herbie to wear it.
Tee Shirt Design: We discussed changing the design of the tee shirt. On
front we will increase the size of Herbie and make his sign a bit smaller. Also put
Herbie’s name by him. We discussed putting bullet points using blueberries by
the name of each advertiser. Dorene will talk to the printer to see if this is possible.
We told Dorene she could choose the color. She needs to get the order in by
May 28th so we can get the tee shirts by June.
Other: The committee discussed having another photo board having a pie
with a big bite taken out. Katherine will discuss this with the Fletcher family
since they made the one we have.
