1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: 7:00pm

2. ATTENDANCE: Present: D. Adams, Lt. Babb, C. Borden, Cpt. Borden, K. Clark, Z. Davis, D. DeCosta-Gallo, K. Dubey, Lt. Duval, J. Duval, Chief Hall, B. Hesseltine, D. Jones, Dpty. LaCourse, Cpt. Lange, D. Martin, D. Simmons, A. Temple, A. Voglino. Absent: J. Murphy, Chad Murray, Cpt. Patterson. Excused: D. Batty, M. Maguire, C. Robidoux.

5. SECRETARY'S REPORT: Dec. meeting minutes were emailed. Accepted as emailed.

6. APPARATUS REPORTS:
  •  13 Rescue 1: In Service: Parts are in for the step repair, waiting for Moto.

  •  13 Tanker 1: In Service: Driver’s seat needs the “air ride” repaired, waiting for Moto

7. DRILLS, MEETINGS AND TRAININGS:
  •  Rescue Drill: Tuesday, Jan. 12th, 7pm. Location: Bennington
  •  Fire Drill: Tuesday, Jan. 19th, 7pm, Location: GFD-Going over accountability, helmet check, SCBA work and cascade system.
  •  Next Business Meeting: Monday, Feb. 1st, 7pm, at GFD.
  •  Other Training Opportunities: For driver trainings at GFD contact David Simmons.
Request to do EMT practical-See Cpt. Lange for arrangements.

8. OLD BUSINESS:
  •  Sunday Morning Church at GFD 9am-11am: Ongoing: This is open to all members who can attend. No fixed agenda . . . we clean, fix, build, repair or train as needed.
  •  Burn Building Committee: No updates at this time
  •  Grant Writing: Doug Batty, anything to report? Nothing at this time. Waiting.
  •  Locker Room: On Sat. Jan. 16th, at 8am, please meet at GFD for a work bee! Headed by Cpt. Borden.
9. NEW BUSINESS:
  •  Winter Carnival: Scheduled for Sat. Jan. 30th. GFD Breakfast, Car Wash & Station Tours 8am – 11am.
Lt. Babb will head up the car wash.
  •  Request from Weblo leader, Ed Bergeron, asked if GFD could do a First Aid class, with the Weblos, on Monday, Jan. 18th at 5:30. He will email a list of things GFD needs to go over with the class.
  •  Request from James Powell, age 10, to be a victim in a rescue drill so he can get a badge in his scout group.
  •  New glucometer: Cpt. Lange demonstrated the new glucometer that will be used. Ariel has experience with these and will show members how to use the device after the meeting.
  • Special training on Monday, Jan. 11th at 7pm with new cardiac resuscitation equipment. Cpt. Lange informed members that before this training, they must watch an online video demonstration and take a test before they are allowed to do the hands on training. He will email the link to members. GFD will be the First department in NH to carry this innovative equipment!
  • Call Response Board: The Chief wanted to make everyone aware that the department has responded to 349 calls for 2015, the most we have ever done. Seven members responded to over 100 calls each: Chief Hall 260, EMR Simmons 202, Lt. Babb 198, FF/EMR Davis 156, Cpt. Lange 140, Cpt. Borden 111, Deputy LaCourse 109. GFD has made every call that they have been toned out for! Great job everyone!
  • Be Prepared: Lt. Duval reminded members that during the winter months when you go on a call, to make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. You don’t know what conditions you will encounter when you arrive on a call, as dispatch only gives a brief description. Wear warm clothes and boots. Pack a duffle bag that includes warm mittens/gloves, hat, warm socks, a change of clothes. If you end up on a call that requires you to be outside for a few hours and you are not dressed properly, you can become the person needing the help. Energy bars are helpful to.
  •  New Gear Orders: gear orders will be going in soon.
  •  Emergency Management Director: David Martin has been appointed by the Selectboard as the new EMD... congratulations David!
  •  Photos for the cover of the town report: Karen will contact Ken Paulsen to schedule the taking of a group photo, or individual photos will be used.
  •  Voting in of New Member: Dylan Jones was voted in GFD membership! Congratulations Dylan and welcome to GFD!
