Energy Committee Minutes 04/13/09
Town Energy Committee
Minutes of meeting April 13, 2009
7:05 p.m. in kitchen of Town Offices

Members present: Dan Wolaver, Diane Boilard, Roger Lessard

Minutes of February 23, 2009 meeting were approved.  Minutes of March 9, 2009 meeting were not voted on for approval since neither Candi nor Aaron were present to vote.
Diane and Deb attended the UNH Economic Stimulus Conference on April 7th.  Apparently there are no definitive plans yet for disbursing monies to small towns.  Diane also spent about 20 hours online looking for information, but was unable to find anything.  She suggests watching www.nh.gov/oep for breaking information.
We discussed how Greenfield should use economic stimulus funds for energy projects when and if we get them.  The first priority would be completing the upgrade of the Town Offices Building heating system.  The second would be insulating the library and upgrading its heating system.  (The library is the second-greatest user of heating fuel.)
Early steps the library could take: do energy audit, weather-strip the front door, close the fireplace flue, reduce propane use.  Dan and Roger will meet with the Library Trustees meeting at 7:30 on May 6 to discuss with them the report from Adrian Pinney and Diane Boilard (see attachment to Feb 23 minutes).  Dan will visit the library before the meeting
The TEC could educate Greenfield residents about energy saving measures (insulation, alternative energy) on a Web page as part of the Town’s Website.  Dan will look into this.
There will be a Local Energy Solutions Conference June 20 at the Grappone Center in Concord.  Diane, Roger, and Dan plan to attend.
Diane Boilard was elected chair of the Town Energy Committee.
Adjourned: 8:15 p.m.
Next meeting: Monday, April 27.
