Attendees: Neal Brown, Karen Day, Janet Renaud, and Carol Irvin
The meeting was called to order at 4:07 p.m.
The following item was addressed: Discuss bid received by Vegetative Control Service, Inc.
VCS, the company represented by Jeff Taylor, was the only contractor to deliver a bid. Neal approached four others, and they never got back to him.
Neal found the Senior Consultant Jeff Taylor much more knowledgeable than the other four contractors with whom he walked the property. He also comes highly regarded and strongly recommended by the NRCS, had full command of the problems faced, asked insightful questions, and sent a very reasonable bid back within a week of the site walk. There was also an article devoted to him in the Summer 2016 issue of Northern Woodlands. There is a discount if both sites are done at once. The total of the discounted bid was $3,095. $2,500 was pledged by the Con Com earlier. The remainder will be provided by NRCS.
Karen made a motion to accept the bid, Janet R. seconded; it passed unanimously.
Order of things:
- The proposal was signed by Janet Renaud, Vice Chair.
- Neal will scan it and sent it to VCS.
- Once the work is done to the Con Com’s satisfaction, VCS will bill the Con Com $2,500, which will come out of the Conservation Fund. VCS can bill NRCS for the balance.
The meeting officially adjourned at 4:15 pm. The next meeting is June 22, 2016 at 7:30 pm.
