New Business
Dollars and Sense program on October 4th - critique - how can we get folks to come? Ideas: Free dinner. Flyer in mail. “It’s coming” in the Spirit. When to have it again? Probably to coordinate with the conservation land purchase bond vote.
Aquifer Protection Meeting – need to reschedule from October 18 - will schedule it in the spring.
NHACC - discussion was held about whom would take what class at the conference.
Conservation land meeting next month? Invite Dick Ober, selectmen, Jim Orr. Carol from Russell Foundation (helps folks get easements). Margaret Watkins.
NRI - Emily Hague - she could do it in 15 hrs/week next summer, and set out projects for other students; make it a rolling project to be updated year after year.
Books for the library - suggestions were made by several people in the group and we have money to buy them all. Gail needs bookshelves. Karla can get kiln-dried lumber and Roger knows a finish carpenter. How to pay for the bookcases - grant?
Old Business
Signs for Conservation Properties – We need to get the exact measurement for the boards to give to Marshall Gale - 2 for each location, one 6’ by 2’ with 8” letters and one 6’ by 1’ with 6” letters - green with yellow letters. Can we retrieve boards delivered to Ray? Karla will find out.
Finish budget - Karla suggested bringing the tree ID booth to the Roadside Roundup. Do it at the elementary school? Neal and Karla will get together - day before Earth Day? (4/22/06).
Recycling Committee Report - budget was turned in with 100% of Frank’s time at the Recycling Center. He should show the DES guidelines to the selectmen so that they know there should be a minimum of 2 people there when is open - Roger will go with Frank.
800 daffodils from NH the Beautiful have arrived. Karen divided them up, since the selectmen didn’t provide a date that the fence would be erected around the waste water plant, she will offer them to the Library, the Historical Society, Parks & Rec. for Oak Park and the beaches, the Fire Dept., and some for the Town Offices and the Meeting House. If the fence gets up in time, it might be possible to have some at the waste water area too.
Any other business brought forward by members or attendees - none.
Mail of importance - none.
