New Business
Dollars and Sense program on October 4th ~ Janet will bring refreshments, Karen and/or Roger will bring the screen over, all three to meet at 6:15 to set up the hall.
Aquifer Protection Meeting – need to reschedule from October 18 - will schedule it in the spring.
Discussion on the budget: will have an $800 surplus this year; agreed to purchase some books for the library before the end of the year. Suggestions were: wetlands, air, water. Janet will contact Gail to find out what they have and assemble a list for the next meeting. For next year’s budget the following suggestions were made: 1) to budget for the Lake Host program and the Roadside Round-Up and 2) to include everything from this year and add 2-3%. The four attendees expressed a desire to go to the annual NHACC meeting on the first Saturday in November. Another item could be sold next year during the Roadside Round-Up - mosquito donuts? - someone should research them. Folks should review the budget and come to the next meeting ready to discuss it.
Piscataquog Watershed Project – PWA has produced a video tape to be used for land conservation. An agreement was reached to purchase three for $8 each to loan to landowners.
Rescheduled November meeting to November 16th instead of the night before Thanksgiving.
Agreed to make the December meeting by appointment only.
Agreement was reach that Con Com needs a sign to put on the common when there are programs. One is available for about $200 and will be purchased next year.
The 800 daffodils from NH the Beautiful will be coming in soon. Karen reported that the selectmen agreed that using them around the “park” - the new wastewater treatment plant behind Delay’s - would be a good use for them. It was suggested that other townspeople might want to get involved with this beautification project - donate plants and do some digging, etc. Maggie Sauvain’s name came up (the “perennial” lady.)
