New Business
1. Roadside Round-Up – Wednesday, we stuffed envelopes. Thursday afternoon Agneta and Neal finished and we continued the meeting in the evening. We finalized lists of things needed for the ham and bean supper and mapped out the roads for the volunteers to pick up blue bags.
2. Purple Loosestrife Program by the PWA on May 19th. It will be held in the Meeting House and be open to the public.
3. Aquifer Protection District project – Paul Susca will come to the May meeting to talk to us informally; Karen also invited Selectman and Planning Board member, George Rainier.
Old Business
4. Update on the Earth Machine sale – Karen will be selling them at a mini-fair at the paper mill and hopes to get more orders. It was felt that we would be able to make the minimum order of 20.
5. Update on the Lake Host program – the response has been so good to the grant offering that we probably would get only one anyway, so it was decided that we would use it for Sunset, since Neal lives there and can take the lead. Neal will talk to Jim Orr to see if Hancock would be willing to share the cost of doing Powder Mill, since Nubanusit bears the brunt of milfoil coming out of there.
6. Any other business brought forward by members or attendees – Janet distributed information about the community profile program from the Cooperative Extension for all to read in their spare time. She also reported on the Dollars and Sense program – Dijit Taylor from the Forest Society will present the program herself for $150; we could have a trainee do it for just $100. It’s a 45-60 minute program. The fall was suggested as good time to have it and that we want Dijit to present; Janet agreed to contact her. We also discussed potential new members to fill out our ranks: Victor King, Miriam Lockhart and Kevin McMurray.
7. Mail of importance – none.
