Trustee of Cemeteries Minutes 09/09/2014

Greenfield Cemetery Trustees

Date:  9/9/2014
Time:  7 p.m. Called to Order
Location: Town Hall
Present: Chairman Gilbert W. Bliss; members Lee LeBlanc and Margaret A. Charig Bliss; Sexton Merrill Villmore; Boy Scout Leader Mike Borden; Jeffrey Lucier and Boy Scout Jackson Lucier

The Trustees heard from Jackson Lucier that he is preparing a proposal for the regional Eagle Scout Board to improve the Meeting House Cemetery. Expanding on a plan he presented last month to replace the fence, Lucier has added plans for benches, a main gate entrance and a permanent sign. His role would be to work with the Trustees in planning, coordinating, guiding and supervising demolition of the existing fence, construction of a new fence and placement of benches, a gate and a sign. His plan still needs approval from the Eagle Scout Board.

The Trustees heard from Scout Leader Mike Borden that the removal of the existing fence might be done as a Troop 271 service project, with Lucier supervising as part of his Eagle Scout project. Jack’s father, Jeff Lucier, noted that having volunteers and the younger scouts help with the demolition would free Jack for the more creative parts.

Jack Lucier discussed details and measurements of the project with the Trustees. Another meeting will be scheduled when he and the Trustees have gathered more information.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
