Trustee of Cemeteries Minutes 08/12/2014

Greenfield Cemetery Trustees

Date:  8/12/2014
Time:  6:08 Called to Order
Location: Town Hall
Present: Chairman Gilbert W. Bliss; members Lee LeBlanc and Margaret A. Charig Bliss; Sexton Merrill Villmore; Boy Scout Leader Mike Borden; Patti Donovan; Jeffrey Lucier and Boy Scout Jackson Lucier

The Trustees heard from Jackson Lucier that he would like to undertake demolition and replacement of the Meeting House Cemetery fence as an Eagle Scout project. His role would be to work with the Trustees in planning the redesign of the fence, coordinating, guiding and supervising the demolition of the existing fence and construction of a new fence. His plan needs approval from the Eagle Scout Board.

The Trustees talked with Jack Lucier about assessing the needs, measuring for and pricing materials, determining where the old material can be disposed of and finally the construction of a new fence.

The current design plan involves removing the wooden parts of the fence, restoring the granite posts and connecting them with a heavy link chain. Trustees agreed unanimously to move forward tentatively with the Eagle Scout project. Another meeting was set for September 9.

In other business, the trustees discussed repair and maintenance of the Greenvale Cemetery gates.

Meeting was adjourned at 8 p.m.
