Board of Cemetery Trustees/Board of Trustees of Trust Funds meeting minutes

PRESENT: ~Gil Bliss, Margaret A. Charig Bliss, Jan Moller, Sexton Merrill Villmore
The Board:
1. Discussed looking into different types of investments for the future to go along with the current policy of investment in certificates of deposit and we will invite Town Administrator Aaron Patt to the next meeting to provide some input.
2. Voted unanimously to establish new lot sizes in light of the increasing trend toward cremation rather than full-body burials. The lot size will be 10x10 feet for $350, rather than the past 10x20-foot lots. The Board also voted to charge $50 to town residents for a cremation burial, $100 for non-residents
3. Approved spending the budgeted amount of $500 to complete the water project at Greenvale Cemetery, new housing is needed for the pump connections as well as final electrical work.
4. Voted to have Jan Moller explore having Con Val students work on the Old Meetinghouse Cemetery fence, and to have Sexton Merrill Villmore explore relative costs and benefits of alternative, synthetic, weather-resistant fence materials.
5. Approved Peoples United Bank provide collateralization for Greenfield’s investment accounts and the board agreed to sign documents to enter into that agreement, following review by the Town Administrator.
6. Reviewed a requested expenditure from Selectmen for funds from the Town Building Capital Reserve Fund to repair the town office building roof.
7. Reviewed current cemetery regulations for grave decoration.
