Budget Advisory Committee Meeting

Meeting opened at 6:04 PM
Present: NNickerson-Chair, DBoilard, GRussell, KPaulsen, AKulgren, CLong and MSteere.
The Chair indicated that this meeting was called to vote on moving forward with the recycling proposal and discuss the presentation for the Thursday Select Board meeting.
DBoilard presented more data that she said showed the cost of New Ipswich recycling was more expensive than Greenfield. After much discussion it was determined that the material was based on faulty logic and the information dismissed.
Discussion on the presentation to the Select Board continued.
NNickerson moved to recommend to the Select Board to further research and implement if feasible a revised recycling program that reduces handling of recyclables based on the presentation of the Budget Advisory Committee. Seconded by MSteere. Vote 6 to 1 in favor of the motion.
Some general discussion on departmental budgets and alternative approaches to operations continued until the meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM.
