Budget Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
March 14, 2012
Attendance: Norman Nickerson, Ken Paulsen and Myron Steere
NNickerson opened the meeting at 7:00 PM.
The committee reviewed the warrant for Town Meeting. There were several areas of individual concern, but the Recycling Center budget was considered an issue that required action by the Committee.
The Committee reviewed Recycling Center spending for 2011 of $95,118.32 versus a budget of $105,411 with a requested 2012 budget of $116,239. This amounts to an increase of over $20,000 more than spent in 2011.
The Budget Advisory Committee agreed that the Recycling Center budget should be reduced by $10,000. If Pay-As-You-Throw passes the budget should be reduced by $20,000 since income from the program could make up $10,000 if started by September 1, 2012 as planned.
The Budget Advisory Committee plans to amend the Recycling Center budget as noted above.
