TOWN OF GORHAM
BOARD OF APPEALS
MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 17, 2005



The Gorham Board of Appeals held its regular meeting on February 17, 2005 at the Gorham High School Auditorium.
Present; Acting Chairman, David McCullough, Board members; Lauren Carrier, Thomas Fickett and Joe Gwozdz. Deputy Town Clerk, Jennifer Elliott and the Town Attorney, Natalie Burns.
Absent; Chairman Audrey Gerry, Board members; Cressey Mollison, and Clinton Pearson.  Code Enforcement Officer Clint Cushman.

Moved, Seconded and VOTED to accept the November 18, 2004 meeting minutes as printed and distributed.  4 yeas.

Appeal # 05-183.  The appeal of David S. Keene requesting permission to replace nonconforming structures with larger units than were there before, namely mobile homes in an existing mobile home park, at property he owns at 180 Narragansett Street (Map 39, Lot 27) which is in the Narragansett Development District – Manufactured Housing District.
David Keene spoke on his own behalf and explained that he owns 13 of the 16 mobile homes and wants to replace those 13 with new units.  He feels this will improve the area. He was not sure of the exact measurements of the new units.
Town Attorney, Natalie Burns stated that the removal of some of the units would overall make the density more conforming.
There were no public comments and the hearing was closed.
The Board discussed the special exception criteria.
Moved, Seconded and VOTED to grant the appeal as it met the criteria.  4 Yeas.
Moved, Seconded and VOTED to approve the Findings of Facts as read aloud by Natalie Burns.  4 yeas.

Moved, Seconded and VOTED to adjourn.  4 Yeas.
