SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN BOARD
TOWN OF GLENVILLE
JANUARY 11, 2006
AT THE GLENVILLE MUNICIPAL CENTER

Present: Supervisor Frank X. Quinn, Councilmen, Robert E. Bailey, Mark A. Quinn, Edward F. Rosenberg and Councilwoman Valerie M. DiGiandomenico

The following resolutions were acted upon.
RESOLUTION NO. 47-2006
Moved by: Councilman Quinn
Seconded by: Councilwoman DiGiandomenico
WHEREAS, three vacancies currently exists in the police department as a result of the retirement of officers, and
WHEREAS, two additional vacancies are expected by January 20th, 2006 resulting from the retirement of two more department members, and
WHEREAS, lateral transfer requests have been received by police officers from other agencies requesting to be employed by this police department, and
WHEREAS, the window of opportunity for consideration of these transfers by the Schenectady County Civil Commission will close on January 18, 2006, and
WHEREAS, the 2006 Police Budget does provide for the funding of all these positions in its personnel staffing, and
WHEREAS, interviews and all pertinent pre-employment processing work with prospective lateral transfer candidates is near completion and recommendations have been made to the Chief of Police pending medical examinations, and
WHEREAS, the Police Chief hereby concurs with the recommendations forwarded to him by our Detective Section,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Town Board does hereby authorize the Chief of Police to hire one lateral transfer candidate for the position of Police Officer with an effective date to be determined in meeting the immediate needs of the department, and
BE IT FURTER RESOLVED that the compensation for said officer be commensurate with the candidates’ current salary and experience as set forth in the current P.B.A. Contract.

RESOLUTION NO. 48-2006

Seconded by: Councilman Quinn
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Board of the Town of Glenville hereby adjourns into Executive Session in order to discuss union contract negotiations and options to select an Attorney for the Town.

Supervisor Quinn reconvened the meeting at 10:35 pm and the following motions were made.
RESOLUTION NO. 49-2006
Moved by: Supervisor Quinn
Seconded by: Councilwoman DiGiandomenico
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Glenville hereby retains Attorney Eric J. Dickson, 621 Union Street, Schenectady, NY, for professional services at a cost not to exceed $54,000, per annum, no benefits.

RESOLUTION NO. 50-2006

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Glenville hereby retains Attorney Margaret D. Huff, 107 N. Ballston Avenue, Scotia, NY, for professional services at a cost not to exceed $18,214, per annum, no benefits.

Motion Carried
Motion to adjourn was moved by Councilman Quinn and Seconded by Councilman Bailey.
The Town of Glenville Town Board Meeting was adjourned at 12:35 AM.
