2016 Loose Leaf Program Update
2016 FALL LEAF PROGRAM TO BEGIN:
MONDAY, OCTOBER 31st

Please do not delay, get your leaves curbside.
PILES SHOULD ONLY CONSIST OF LOOSE LEAVES, NO BRANCHES OR BRUSH.
For vehicle and pedestrian safety, do not place leaves on roadways.

The Highway Department will be starting loose leaf collection on Monday, 10/31/16 in the Paradowski area. We will then continue to move down that side of Route 50.

Zone One: Kingsbury to Sunnyside
Zone Two: Bancker to Scotchbush
Zone Three: Charlton-Droms-Swaggertown-Spring-Vley areas; West Glen

Due to the unpredictability of the weather you are requested to bag loose leaves after your first scheduled pick-up has occurred. A heavy snowfall may impede a second pick-up by the Town as our machines are not equipped to handle wet, icy leaves. The town will pick bagged leaves for a second pass as needed.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 382-1406.
Thank you, Tom Coppola, Highway Supt/Commissioner

LOOSE LEAF UPDATE 11.3.16: Loose leaf pick up off the right side of Route 50 from Kingsbury Road to Pashley Road should be complete by end of day today. Crews will then continue working south. One crew will be picking in the Birch Lane area. A second crew will be working Maybrook to Pashley Road. Please do not hesitate, get your leaves curb side!! Thank you.
LOOSE LEAF UPDATE 11.17.16: After today Zone One will have been completed for one pass. Weather permitting will determine if we will make a return trip in roughly 3-4 weeks. Zone Two has been started in the Scotchbush area. Crews are in Scotchbush area [Hollywood, Velina] and Heckeler Drive.
LOOSE LEAF UPDATE 11.30.16: Crews are working on finishing Zone Two. They are in the Indian Hills area, Socha area and Horstman area. We expect to begin Zone Three within the next day. We will continue the leaf program as the weather permits us. We anticipate returning to Zone One about the middle of December.
LOOSE LEAF UPDATE 12.6.16: Crews are currently working in Zone Three in the Pine St area and West Glen area. Our third crew is finishing up state and county roads in Zone Two. We will continue to vacuum loose leaves as weather permits us. As always we will pick up bagged leaves through the end of the year.
