Route 146 Closure - October 21st - October 24th
ROUTE 146 CLOSURE
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21st - MONDAY, OCTOBER 24th

In order to progress the paving of the new Roundabout and the approaches to the Roundabout at the south end of the Rexford Bridge Project, we will be enacting a full closure of Route 146 (Balltown Road) for a short distance south the Roundabout.  We will also be temporarily altering the traffic pattern through the Roundabout as we progress portions of the paving work.  This closure will include both the eastbound and westbound directions.  The closure will begin at 9:00 PM on Friday October 21st and must end prior to 6:00 AM on Monday October 24th.  The Rexford Bridge, Aqueduct Road and Williams Street will remain open during this closure period.  The closure and detour plan are similar to the plan we enacted for previous work this past July.

Although the actual closed section of Route 146 will be relatively short, the signed detour will be Aqueduct Road to Van Vranken Avenue to Nott Street to Rosa Road to Providence Avenue to Balltown Road, or reverse.  The detour route will be clearly signed.  While we are allowed to keep the road closed until Monday morning, our goal will be to have the road back open to full traffic sometime on Sunday.  We expect there will be traffic delays on both Route 146 and Aqueduct Road during this period.

This Friday night October 14th, and on Saturday October 15th, we will be reconstructing and paving a short section Aqueduct Road where it approaches the Roundabout.  This work on Aqueduct Road will be accomplished using alternating one-way traffic with flag persons controlling traffic.  No closure or detour will be required for this work.   Other work not requiring any lane closures will also be occurring during this time.  We expect there will be traffic delays on both Route 146 and Aqueduct Road while the work is being accomplished.

Please consider how the work this weekend and the closure and work next weekend may impact your operations or travel routes.
