Meeting Called to Order at: 7:04pm

Jim informed the Fin Comm that $425K for new growth was given to us by Debbie Carbone. This is an increase of $40K. We had available for distribution $623K, and with this $40K we now have $663K.
Schools are asking for an increase in their budget of $631,065 from last year’s numbers. The current budget reflects an increase of $221,082.00 for the schools.
Discussion of $45K additional charges by Whittier Vocational School.
Toni summarized that Steve D. is looking into new Health Plans. Mike inquired as to why the town has not gone out looking for bids. Toni and Steve D. are checking out what can be done for FY06 and then what can be done going forward in regards to Health Insurance costs.
Motion to attempt to fund the school’s line item of wages/salaries in their proposed budget

Jim made and Amendment to the motion to focus on salary increases in the budget in this order: contractual obligations, 4% increase for non-contractual employees, and any other increases.

Schools are leaving with a ballpark figure of approximately $400K to work with as an increase in their budget.
