Minutes from the September 27, 2016_________ Meeting were reviewed and approved with one adjustment.

Meeting Motions / Actions and Summary of Discussions:
An update of the Georgetown Senior Community Center noted that carpentry students from Whittier Regional Technical High School are completing framing and one side of the sheet rock on the new walls.  General Contractor Ambient Technology will install the handicap door opener as part of the new entrance. Along with rough wiring, the installation of heating, ventilation and cooling systems will soon be complete. Georgetown School Facilities Department have been working overtime on evenings and weekends to assist with the project. They have insulated walls and the second side of sheetrock.  They will paint the exterior wall of the new entrance.  They will also paint the interior walls, order and install interior doors and install carpet tiles in the two office areas.  They will also install privacy screens in the men’s room, patch the wall tile and paint the walls.  Weekly construction meetings continue to be held. Colleen will attend the MCOA Conference in Falmouth on Oct. 26-28.  While the Annual Flu is underway Nov. 2 at the First Congregational Church, the yoga class will meet at the Perley School.  Funded by the Georgetown Cultural Council, Simons and Goodwin will perform a musical program on Nov. 8. The AARP Income Tax Preparation Program will begin Thurs. Feb. 2.  A Valentine Lunch with Culinary Arts Students from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School will be held Wed. Feb. 15 at the new Senior Center.  The COA schedule will be kept light during the move to the new Senior Center in December. Board members approved the Treasurer’s Report with a motion by Esther Palardy and a second by Diane Prescott. The contract for the state’s Formula Grant is not available yet but the Town is allowed to spend the money planned for the grant. The van will need new tires along with the annual inspection next month.  In partnership with the Georgetown Fire Department, Colleen also reported that the new Lock Box and Smoke Detector Program has been a success.  Colleen has been called for Jury Duty on Dec. 14. Board members approved the Director’s Report with a motion by Corona Magner and a second by Esther Palardy.  Both motions passed unanimously.
