Meeting Motions / Actions and Summary of Discussions:
An update of the Georgetown Senior Community Center included a report that voters at the May 2 Special Town Meeting approved a $50,000 transfer from the Stabilization account, while voters at the May 2 Annual Town Meeting approved $125,000 from the Community Preservation Fund to complete the funding necessary for the cost of repurposing the five classrooms at the Perley School that will become the new Senior Center facility.   Colleen has purchased 8 long folding tables, four card tables and 20 chairs with arms as well as five folding screens to use as space dividers.  Additional housewares needed to furnish the kitchen have also been purchased.  Including both salaries and expenses, the COA’s FY17 Budget of $131,195 was approved. Board members welcomed new alternate board member Janice Downey to the COA. The COA Nominating Committee presented the following slate of offices: Chair, Jeannine DesJardins, Vice Chair Claire Maimone, Treasurer Carol Sheehan and Secretary Jean Perley.  Officers will be elected at the June meeting.  Board member Sue Clay moved the Nominating Committee’s report with a second by Claire Maimone.  The motion passed unanimously. Board members recommended that the following board members be reappointed by the Board of Selectmen: Diane Prescott, Ann Stewart, Janice Downey and Jean Perley.  Board member Esther Palardy moved the recommendation with a second by Nancy Thompson.  Colleen explained a proposal by Salvation Army that would partner with the Town to offer residents emergency assistance.  With a motion by Carol Sheehan and a second by Diane Prescott, board members agreed to recommend the proposal pending approval by the Town Administrator and Board of Selectmen. Colleen explained that the state Formula Grant will be completely spent by June 30, 2016.  Any money remaining in the expense line is returned to general revenue. Board members approved the Treasurer’s Report with a motion by Diane Prescott and a second by Claire Maimone. Board members approved the Director’s Report with a motion by Ann Stewart and a second by Sue Clay.  Both motions passed unanimously.
