Meeting Motions / Actions and Summary of Discussions:
Students from Whittier Reg. Voc. Tech. High School may be able to assist in remodeling classrooms at the Perley School for use as the Senior Center facility, providing labor to frame interior walls for office space. Colleen has worked with the Georgetown Historical Commission to apply for Community Preservation money to help fund the project. An article to fund the costs of remodeling the classrooms is planned for the Nov. 2 special town meeting. Colleen will attend the Mass. Councils on Aging conference in Sturbridge Oct. 7-9. Due to fair preparations, the First Congregational Church will be closed to COA activities the week of Oct. 19. Colleen has applied to the Georgetown Cultural Council to fund a series of four musical programs. With regret, COA board members accepted Dick Boucher’s resignation
from the board and agreed to recommend to the Selectmen that Sue Clay be appointed as an alternate. The Annual Flu Clinic will be held Wed. Nov. 4, 9 a.m. The annual COA Holiday Party will be held Mon. Dec. 7, 1 p.m. at Trestle Way.
