Meeting Motions / Actions and Summary of Discussions:
A site visit at the Perley School was held June 8, 2015 with COA Board members, BOS and School Dept. officials. A list of furnishings at the Penn Brook School was reviewed by the COA, Town Administrator and School Dept.  Identified furnishings will be moved to the Perley School for the new facility. Bids for the engineering and design work necessary to remodel classrooms at the Perley School for use as the Senior Center facility have been posted and will be due in July.  The engineer will determine construction costs needed to remodel the classrooms and a second article to fund the costs will be planned for the fall special town meeting with a bidding process to follow. Board members approved the following slate of officers: Chair Jeannine DesJardins, Vice Chair Claire Maimone, Treasurer Sue Gardiner and Secretary Jean Perley. Officers will assume or resume their positions in July. The BOS reappointed board members Nancy Thompson and Esther Palardy to their 3-year terms, Ann Stewart to her one-year alternate position and appointed alternate Carol Sheehan to a three-year term. The BOS also appointed Dick Boucher as an alternate board member. The five board members must be sworn in by Town Clerk in July. Crosby’s Marketplace has agreed to support the Men’s Breakfast again this year. The state Formula Grant budget and annual EOEA report will be due in August.  A new caterer contracted with Elder Services of Merrimack Valley will provide the congregate meals and Meals on Wheels beginning July1. Colleen has been recertified by the Mass. Councils on Aging as a COA Director. Colleen will be on vacation the first two weeks of July and the second week of August.  The board will not meet in July. Board members approved the Treasurer’s Report with a motion by Ann Stewart and a second by Carol Sheehan. The COA Friends have begun to donate $10/month to the COA’s Donation Account. Board members approved the Director’s Report with a motion by Esther Palardy and a second by Sue Gardiner. Both motions passed unanimously.
