MINUTES OF GEORGETOWN COA
Tuesday June 28, 2011

The Board of the COA met Tuesday, June 28, 2011. The Board was called to order at 12:13 p.m.
by Chairwoman Claire Maimone.

Present were: Jeannine DesJardins, Dianne Prescott, Esther Palardy, Corona Magner, Jean Perley, Barbara Miller,  Claire Maimone and Director Colleen Ranshaw-Fiorello.

Secretary’s Report was accepted after change of date from June to July.

Old Business:
  • Pam Lara, Ipswich Board if Health Nurse will come to Georgetown once a month for the Blood Pressure Clinic and yearly for the Flu Shot Clinic.
New Business:
  • Esther Palardy and Dianne Prescott were appointed to the Nominating Committee and were accepted by the Board. They presented the following Slate of Officers:
Chairperson- Claire Maimone
Vice Chairperson- Esther Palardy
Treasurer- Chandler Noyes assisted by Cindy Tardif.
Secretary- Barbara Miller
All were approved by the Board.
  • Reappointments by the Board of Selectmen were Claire Maimone, Chandler Noyes, Jeannine DesJardins, and Corona Magner. Jean Perley was appointed to fill a 3 year vacancy. There is one alternate position available.
Treasurer’s Report:
  • Expenses were presented and reviewed. The Van needed a new alternator at the cost of $500. The final bill for the First Congregational Church was paid as were all outstanding major bills.
  • The Treasurer’s Report was accepted as presented.
The Director’s Report was read and discussed:
  • Statistics for May 2011 were presented: General Information Services, Case Management, Home Visits, Reassurance Calls, Medical Equipment, Newsletters mailed, NEET, Congregate Meals, Elder Brown Bag, Van Service, Social Events, Cultural Events, Community Education, Classes.

Discussion/Action:
  • Colleen will be on vacation August 15 – August 19/11.
  • Jim Boynton’s 100th Birthday Celebration is planned for July 12/11, 4 p.m. at the Carleton house. A Proclamation will be presented by the Selectman, the Boston Post Cane ceremony and an Open House from 4-8 p.m. are in the planning.

Meeting Adjourned at 1 p.m.

Next Meeting Tuesday, Aug. 23/11, noon at the First Congregational Church.
