MINUTES GEORGETOWN COA
Tuesday, December 28, 2010
The Board of Georgetown COA met Tuesday, December 28, 2010. The meeting was called to order at 12:10 PM by Chairwoman, Claire Maimone.
Present were: Chandler Noyes, Claire Maimone, Corona Magna, Jeannine DesJardins, Diane Prescott, Jean Perley, Barbara Miller, Director Colleen Ranshaw-Fiorello.
There was no Executive Session and no Public Hearing.
The Minutes of the November 23, 2010 meeting were read and accepted after a spelling correction (Choras to Chorale), and the addition of Jean Perley’s name to those present.
There was no Correspondence to review and no Old Business to discuss.
New Business:
- Tax Incentive Program update- 25 applications in circulation to date. Colleen is looking for positions for 20 people who will be chosen by newcomers first then a lottery for the others. Those persons not making the lottery will be considered newcomers next year.
- Mobility Assistance Program update- Georgetown, Merrimac and Newbury applied for a Regional Grant ($54,879) together. MVRTA received a grant for Medical Transportation that will be shared with the communities in Merrimack Valley.
Member Reports:
Treasurer’s Report was presented by Colleen. The Van is at B&B’s for brake repair. The report was accepted as presented.
Staff Reports:
Director’s Report was read and discussed.
- Outreach Statistics for November 2010 were presented: General Information Services, Case Management, Home Visits, Reassurance Calls, Medical Equipment, Newsletters mailed, NEET, Congregate Meals, Elder Brown Bag, Van Services, Social Events, Health Education, Classes.
- Seasonal Events wrap-up- The seasonal events for 2010 were very successful. They included a Chorale performance by Whittier Voc. Tech. High School with refreshments by Monica Thompson; Jo Bridges’ Tap Dancers; G.H.S. breakfast and Chorale Performance; and the annual Christmas Party.
