MINUTES GEORGETOWN COA
Tuesday, November 23, 2010

The Board of the Georgetown COA met Tuesday, November 23, 2010. The meeting was called to order 12:05 p.m. by Chairwoman, Claire Maimone.

Present were: Jeannine DesJardins, Esther Palardy, Dianne Prescott, Chandler Noyes, Corona Magner, Claire Maimone, Barbara Miller, Director Colleen Ranshaw-Fiorello.

There was no Executive Session and no Public Hearing.

The Minutes of the October 26, 2010 meeting were accepted as presented.

There was no Correspondence to review and no Old Business to discuss.

New Business:
Mobility Assistance Program application was received and due December 10, 2010 in Boston. The Town is seeking a regional grant to share a $54,879 8-11 passenger van  with the Towns of Merrimac and Newbury. The State Mobility Assistance Program has said that the Town is not eligible to apply for its own van due to the limited hours available for the driver.  Colleen was meeting today to discuss three towns working together to share the Van (Georgetown, Merrimac and Groveland). There will be a Regional Planning Meeting Tues. Nov. 23/10 at 2PM at Merrimack Valley Planning Commission.
The COA proposed $80,943 FY12 Budget with prioritized service areas. Colleen prepared an Activity/Service Inventory with level-spending and level services for FY12. The Board agreed to recommend the Annual Operating Budget as presented to the Board of Selectmen.
The first half of the Formula Grant ($3,234) was received November 9, 2010. Second half is expected in January, 2011.

Treasurer’s Report was presented by Colleen. Colleen paid the first quarter Church rent. The Report was accepted as presented.

Staff Reports:
Director’s Report was read and discussed.
Outreach Statistics for Oct0ber 2010 were presented: General Information Services, Case Management, Home Visits, Reassurance Calls, Medical Equipment, Newsletters Mailed, NEET. Congregate Meals, Elder Brown Bag, Van Services, Social Events, Health Education, Classes.
Indoor WALKING Program at Penn Brook School underway Mon. and Wed. 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. beginning Nov. 1/10.
Colleen asked for help with the COA Christmas Party, Mon. Dec. 13, 2010 at Trestle Way with regards to desserts and serving.
Colleen discussed the Tax Incentive Program.  Applications are available through Dec. 30, 2010 with the program scheduled to begin in January.
The Thanksgiving Dinner provided by the Kiwanis was very successful.
The Flu Clinic was also successful.
