MINUTES GEORGETOWN COA
Tuesday, September 28, 2010.

Tho Board of the Georgetown COA met on Tuesday, September 28, 2010. The meeting was called to order at 12:09 PM by Chairwoman Claire Maimone.

Present were Esther Palardy, Corona Magner, Chandler Noyes, Claire Maimone, Diane Prescott, Barbara Miller, Jean Perley, Director Colleen Ranshaw- Fiorello.

There was no Executive Session and no Public Hearing.

The Minutes of the August 24, 2010 meeting were accepted as presented.

There was no correspondence to review and no Old Business to discuss.

New Business:
  • The COA Secretary position- Barbara Miller will continue as Acting Secretary.
  • The annual MCOA Conference will be held on Cape Cod, October 6 – 8, 2010. Colleen will attend and receive her Director’s Certification.
  • Colleen applied for a $400 Cultural Council Grant for Expressive Arts and Music Programs.
  • The Annual Flu Clinic is planned for Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the Senior Center.
  • A Special Town Meeting is planned for Monday, November 15, 2010 at the High School.
The Treasurer’s Report was presented and explained by Colleen.   
The first payment from the Formula Grant has not yet been received.

Staff Reports
Director’s Report was read and discussed.
  • Outreach Statistics for August 2010 were presented: General Information Services, Case Management, Home Visits, Reassurance calls, Medical Equipment, Newsletters Mailed, NEET, Congregate Meals, Elder Brown Bag, Van Services, Social Events, Cultural Events, Health Education,
  • There is a need for Volunteer Drivers for medical appointments. Colleen is posting notices in newspapers, area churches etc.
