MINUTES GEORGETOWN COA
Tuesday, August 24, 2010
The Board of the Georgetown COA met on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. The Meeting was called to order at 12:25 pm by Chairwoman Claire Maimone.
Present were Jeannine DesJardins, Esther Palardy, Jean Perley, Chandler Noyes, Diane Prescott, Claire Maimone, Barbara Miller, Corona Magna, Director Colleen Ranshaw-Fiorello.
The Secretary’s Report for June 22, 2010 was read and accepted after a spelling correction.
New Business
Discussion/Action
· The secretary’s position needs to be filled temporarily. Barbara miller will be Acting Secretary.
· Crosby’s Marketplace will continue to sponsor the Men’s Breakfast Program.
· MCOA Conference will be attended Oct. 5-7 by Colleen.
· Colleen received her Director’s Certification from the State. In addition to a four-page community summary, the application included six four-page program summaries on the COA’s transportation program, health and wellness program, public communications, outreach program, information and referral program and our activities program.~ The application also includes examples of computer literacy and attachments that provide evidence of the work referenced in the program narratives (such as the municipal budget, newspaper articles, website information as well as program assessments and evaluations).
Member’s Report
Treasurer’s Report was presented by Colleen.
Expenses as of August 23, 2010 were explained by Colleen.
Staff Reports
Director’s Report was read and discussed.
Outreach Statistics for June and July were presented: General Information Services, Case Management, Home Visits, Reassurance Calls, Medical Equipment, Newsletters mailed, NEET, Congregate Meals, Elder Brown Bag, Van Service, Social Events, Cultural Events, Health Education, Classes.
