Called to order 5:35 PM.

New Business:
Legislative report
List of bills: Todd went through the list of bills, summarizing what he knew about each. Highlighted a few particularly bad bills, like SB37, SB123, HB61 Revise Minor in Possession law. LC1717 that makes it a crime for a driver to refuse to submit a blood or breath test will probably be the most contested. LC1740, Aggravated DUI, is supported by the County Attorney’s Association.
Report on MSU legislative event, Jenna or Bob. Limited opportunity for input but Jenna did get some things included in her committee’s recommendations.
Other footwork, Mark and some other members sent out a letter to their legislators asking their support for DUI related legislation.
It was decided to have a special meeting January 29th, and then schedule the next meeting.
Our Future
Jenna will continue to work with the Great Falls legislator to get her to introduce a bill that includes our funding. Mark and Todd to meet to draft an amendment to LC1465, DUI surcharge, to create a citizen oversight committe for any funds chanelled to law enforcement to be sure they are used for DUI prevention. Third option for the Task Force is to disband on June 30th, 2003.
Old Business:
Holiday overtime patrols: report from Sherrie. Some DUI arrests made but she did not have specific details.
Jenna reported on Impaired-driving related articles and other aspects of the Safe Kids, Safe Communities grant. She had a copy of her December 25 editorial from the Bozeman Daily Chronicle about Gallatin County DUI arrest numbers thru September and cite and release.
Parent Party Patrol will present to MIP class January 25th
