Discussed the last Parent Party Patrol meeting – 2 parents attended. Doing the April 7th presentation in conjunction with Bozeman Public Schools – inserted flyer in Bozeman Sr. High report cards; included our DUI cost card.
DUI Refusal
Jenna reported that when she researched DUI’s for David Bennett, refusal rates are not being recorded. Need that for effective legislative intervention. Susan made a couple suggestions of how we can begin tracking those – one was to photocopy the report made at the Detention Center and Jenna could count those once a month (have person who copies black out the detail) – or make a photocopy of the actual citations - that information can go to Jenna as a photocopy without the name being blacked out.
Susan suggested contacting Marty Kent to see which would be the most workable solution.
Other:
Got our banners back from Rockin’ the Rivers, with the help of the County Attorney’s office.
Jenna reported on the last Criminal Justice Advisory Council meeting – the CJAC recommended the continuation of David Bennett’s contract.
Judge Wyckman requested that Jenna research the cost of Denver boots, to disable the vehicles of multiple-offense DUI drivers. Jenna forwarded the information to Alex Fuller at the GCSO to give to Sheriff Cashell. At the meeting, she gave the print out of the information to Susan Wordal.
Budget
Mark presented our proposed budget for fiscal 2005 – some discussion of the need for Jenna to find out the estimated cost of wage increases. Also, discussed contracted services detail – Mike Clayton said that a student told him she would sure like to see the DUI Task Force distribute more of the keychains that hold quarters – Jenna said she had included some funds in contracted services for something like that assuming no additional grant funds come through the state.
No definite action taken at this time on the budget – its being prepared early for the last week of March when Jenna will present to at the county budget meetings. Jenna said if we need to have the budget approved before the next meeting, she’ll email everyone.
