Minutes, October, approved.

New Business:
Gallatin County Sheriff Cashell welcomed the Task Force to the DUI Processing Center and Jail.  He stated that he was happy that we could meet in his facility and appreciated the Task Force’s help in making the new processing center successful.  

Tour of Detention Center: Sheriff’s Lieutenant Gootkin conducted a tour of the jail facility and processing center for Task Force members and guests.  

Scooter Guy: Chad Yurashank, owner of “The Scooter Guy!”, gave a presentation about his new business.  For a fee of $5 to $20, he will drive home anyone requesting his services in their own vehicle to avoid driving while under the influence.  He places a small-motorized scooter in the car for his return after driving the person home.  The Task Force members indicated they supported his idea and that his business would be beneficial to the community.  Chad said that he hopes to employ additional personnel if the number of requests increases.  

DUI Task Force Bylaws
Jenna – Distributed a copy of the proposed bylaws.
Matt indicated these are new bylaws and must be re-approved by the commission.
Section 2 must be reworded to indicate that the Gallatin County DUI Task was created on March 1, 1984 by the county commission.  
Susan moved that we adopt the bylaws as corrected, Alex seconded.  Approved.
Jenna stated she would take the bylaws before the commission as corrected.

Holiday Promotion Plans:  brainstorming

CHAI Bozeman (Coalition for a Healthy, Active, and Involved Bozeman) Jenna discussed progress in the formation of CHAI.

Cat/Griz game.
Jenna placed a radio ad for the Cat/Griz game.  It got a lot of favorable feedback.

Swimming Upstream Awards
Motion to table for next meeting, Bob motioned, Susan seconded, approved.

Report on Activities:  

Media Assessment Project
MSU is doing an assessment of how the focus of articles on substance abuse and DUI may have changed over the past four years..
Jenna has four years of community newspaper articles that have been organized in binders by community service volunteers that she gave them..

Proclamation:
The proclamation for Drunk and Drugged Driving Month will be in front of the county commissioners on December 6.

Budget Update
Task Force received check for $12,000
The balance is approximately $30,000
Jenna distributed a handout with the budget information.

Mini-grant updates

Bob indicated that there was a misquote by Radio Shack on the Digital Recorders.  The amount needs to be increased by $124.99.
A motion to increase the amount by $124.99 was made by Susan and seconded by Matt.  Approved.

Alex indicated that the SO needed $1500 to fund 2 –2 officer cars for OT patrol.  Susan motioned we fund the $1500 and Matt seconded.  Approved.

Susan motioned that we approve $197 OT for Bel Grade PD for New Years Eve.  Ken seconded, approved.

Susan indicated that due to the present workload, Bozeman PD might not be able to use the allocated OT.  Bob stated that we would leave one OT shift for the present.  

Sherrie indicated the MHP contract is still not approved and that the task force should not fund any OT until it is.  

Bob indicated that law enforcement and promotional funding is covered for the Holidays.

Jenna stated that the next Task Force meeting would be on December 21.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM – Sherrie motioned, Katie seconded, motion carried.
