New Business
Report on success of and feedback from Swimming Upstream awards.

Further discussion on essay contest, Susan Wordal and Steve Scott are working on refining the idea.

Jenna Caplette proposed draft budget for 2009 and reported on current budget.  Improved Internet access may be necessary for efficient county VPN access.  No need for a new computer currently.

Sydney  Hoffner reported on the status of a short film production and opportunity for the Task Force logo on the credits, with 8 copies provided to the task force.  Limited screening in the first year after completion will be limited due to international screenings for competition. Susan Wordal motioned to contribute $1,500 in mini grant funds, Hal Richardson seconded, motion approved.

There has not yet been a mini-grant submitted to the Task Force for compliance check funding though Jenna has solicited applications.

The National Park Service will conduct safety checks at mile marker 16, April 27th and May 8th.  Marty and Cheri discussed Marty’s efforts to conduct municipal safety check-points.  Safety checks must be advertised in the newspaper.

Ellie Staley with the Downtown Bozeman Partnership presented proposed changes to this year’s Music on Main. Open containers will be confined to a delineated area.  Over- serving will be addressed to curb underage drinking.  She submitted an application for funding for wrist bands.  The wristband could contain the DUI Task Force logo and will be provided to those of age who can then choose to consume alcohol in the delineated area. The Bozeman PD fully endorses these improvements. Suggestion to support Late Night Streamline or police force funding suggested as alternatives. There was some concern from Task Force members about funding the wrist bands, or including the DUI Task Force logo on them, as promoting drinking, open containers, etc.

Marty presented a mini-grant application for police video camera equipment.
