Proposed Minutes
March 7, 2011

Meeting came to order at 7:40 in the town office meeting room.

Announcements: No February meeting unless something comes up. Minutes not available.
Old Business:

Crotched Easement; Brian Hotz from SPNHF has been in touch and will continue to work on finalizing the Crotched Easement.

NRI/mapping:  According to Pete Throop of Monadnock Conservancy, one of the items needed to begin the mapping process is to have tax map data made into shape files, Normandeau   Associates has given a price of approx $500 to develop these files.  A motion was made by Chris Danforth and seconded by Don Shuffleton to approve having Normandeau do the shape files and to pay for it from the conservation fund for an amount of $500, not to $575.  All in favor.

Conservation Fund: Hardwick presented a status report and budget outline for the conservation fund.  This includes a suggestion that we set aside a certain amount of funds to be designated for stewardship purposes - this is an important element of what was agreed to do when adopting the LTA stewardship standards and practices for municipalities as part of the LCHIP grant acceptance requirement.  All agreed to discuss further at our next meeting.

Conservation Plan Proposal: It was agreed to move forward with the conservation plan proposal as recommended by Pete Throop; A motion was made by Chris Danforth and seconded by Don Shuffleton to create a Conservation Plan Subcommittee, and to appoint volunteers Barry Wicklow,  Ben Haubrich, Linda Kunhardt and Betsy Hardwick as subcommittee members to work on developing the NRI and Conservation Plan for the land use section of the Master Plan update.

Earth Day:  It was agreed to not hold a special single-day event this year but rather to have blue bags available at various places around town for people to pick up roadside trash at their convenience, and to advertise accordingly.  BJ will send out an email notice prior to Earth Day, and will place boxes of bags  at the library and post office and other locations as available.

Duck Boxes: Need to be cleaned, various dates were discussed and it was agreed to see what happened weather-wise, and then Hardwick will send out an email notice of date and time.
