MINUTES
FARMINGTON BOARD OF SELECTMEN
MEETING
JANUARY 12, 2006

PRESENT: Chairman Joan Funk, Vice-chairman Paula Proulx, Selectmen George Meyer, Paul Parker, Matt Scruton, Town Administrator Paul Weston, Finance Administrator Pam Merrill

Chairman Funk opened the meeting at 6:00 PM and led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.

Approval of the minutes of the January 5 meeting was postponed.

MUNICIPAL BUDGET REVIEW: The Selectmen continued review of the proposed 2006 Municipal Budget.  

PROOF OF CLAIMS – COLLINS & AIKMAN CORPORATION: Upon motion, second, and a unanimous vote in favor the Board of Selectmen ratified and approved (the official minutes have the Proof of Claims attached) Town Administrator Paul Weston signing on behalf of the Town of Farmington 3 Proof of Claims in the bankruptcy proceedings against Collins and Aikman Corporation, et al.  The three claims relate to land contamination on the Sarah Greenfield property, the land contamination at the Cardinal Landfill on Cocheco Road, and for unpaid 2005 property taxes.

PORTABLE RADIO GRANT: Upon motion, a second, and a unanimous vote in favor, the Board of Selectmen approved the submittal by Fire Chief Rich Fowler of a grant for 26 portable radios for the Fire and Rescue Department.  Each radio will cost approximately $2,000.  The Town will pay under $200. total to program the radios upon receipt. Chief Fowler was commended for his pursuit of these Federal dollars.

ADJOURNMENT:  Upon motion, a second, and unanimous vote the meeting was adjourned at 10:05.
