Planning Board Meeting Minutes
Site Walk- Feb 12, 2005
Board Members: Charlie King, Troy Robidas, Hiram Watson,
Selectmen's Rep: Paul Parker
Staff: Paul Esswein, Planning Director
Public: Bruce Cartwright, Tony Alcorn, Richard Malone, Randy Orvis and John Law arrived at the location of the site walk
Call to Order: 12:05 p.m. Randy Orvis reviewed plans of the New Dam Projects. He pointed out the proposed driveway location for the 13 lots on Bay Road. Randy also discussed the current thinking on the possible side walk location, this being that sidewalk easement would be more appropriate on the other side of the now existing stonewall away from the road side proposals.
After answering questions from the board members and members of the public the meeting was adjourned for the short ride to the site.
Meeting reconvened at the site where Randy Orvis pointed out the driveway location at each proposed lot. Taking time to also direct the Boards attention to Site distances for each location. Great deal of discussion was taken at lot 10 and 11 where the higher elevation created difficulty in site distances. Randy Orvis suggested that with a possible slope easement excavation of the higher elevation might correct and increase site distances. Some suggested that the rural character of the road may be preserved by using the proposed private road at the edge of lot13 be extended to provide driveway access to lot 10, lot 11, lot 12 thereby reducing the need to excavate the terrain near Bay Road.
