Meeting Minutes

Members Present: Chairman Paula Proulx, William Hussey, Sharla Rollins and Cyndi Paulin.

Chairman Paula Proulx commenced the meeting 7:10am.

Cyndi Paulin moved to accept the minutes of 11-8-2006 as written, Sharla Rollins seconded.  Motion passed with all in favor.

Sarah Greenfield Business Park Sign:  Paula received a directory sign draft and quote from Steve McDuffey.  The committee discussed removing the map directory on the top slat of sign and putting in additional business name slats.  It was also discussed that in planning for the future maybe the business slats of sign should be longer, so that in the future if the park grows significantly in size the sign can meet the needs by doubling up names on each slat.  Paula will ask Steve McDuffey for suggestions.  Cyndi Paulin moved to accept the proposals from Steve McDuffey and utilize his services for both signs based on his quotes and his quality, Bill Hussey seconded.  Motion passed with all in favor.

Road Easement within Sarah Greenfield Park:  The committee discussed with Joel Moulton, Head of the Highway Department, where the best place for an access road would be in the park to get to the back lots for excavation.  Joel said the best spot would be right beside the lot purchased by Artemis Industries.  Cyndi will email Charlie King, Planning Board Chair, to ask if he could help with the creating of an easement for the road between Artemis and the 1.6 acre lot (she will also include a request that he look at wording for the covenant adendum).

Discussion with Joel Moulton:  The committee confirmed with Joel that creating an exit road by the Farmington Day Care as originally planned would be fine and not a safety hazard though he would like to see a fence put up as a barrier.
In further discussion Joel explained to the committee how marketing the materials in the lot closest to the daycare would be a great asset.  The revenue raised from sales could pay for the road to be put in plus much more.  In order to consider this though, test bits need to be taken and the land surveyed so that correct items are marketed and it is mined responsibly.  Joel stated that the test bits could be done by his department though they would need to be sent out for analysis at about $80.00 per sample.  He would estimate about $1000 for the test bits.

Marketing Tool Folders:  At the next meeting this committee will discusss how to present the marketing tool to the Board of Selectman on January 23, 2007, also the sign proposals will be presented at the same time.  It was figured that in house, the complete folder could be created for $0.92 each, Brandy offered to get a quote from Staples for comparison.

Bill Hussey motioned to adjourn, Cyndi Paulin seconded.  Motion passed.  Meeting adjourned at 9:18am.

Respectfully Submitted,
Brandy Sanger
