LMAC has developed nine land management plans for selected open space parcels. The Town has successfully implemented many aspects of the 2006 Greening of Falmouth Report, supported by voters at a referendum in 2007. Subsequent to this vote and acquisition of property for open space throughout the community, a need for managing the land was determined to be necessary by staff and members of several committees and the Falmouth Land Trust. During the past year, the Town Council recognized the ongoing need to manage publicly owned property and established LMAC. The proposed land management plans recommended for adoption will help guide future management decisions for this significant investment in the
community.
A slideshow will be presented at the meeting and is attached to this agenda. A summary of significant management tasks for each selected property is also attached. Finally, the resolution is attached and recognizes that the plans are a guide and there will be an ongoing need to report progress and efforts to future Town Councils. |
