In accordance with state statute (30-A MRSA § 3516), the procedure for preparation and adoption of the annual Metro Bus budget requires submittal of a preliminary budget and local subsidy formula to each participating community no later than October 31. If within 30 days the District receives notice of refusal to accept the formula by the municipal officers of any participating community, the District is then required to petition the PUC by December 15th to establish the formula.
