February 25 Agenda Item 5
Subject:
Presentation, discussion and resolution regarding a proposal to expand natural gas services throughout Falmouth, Cumberland and Yarmouth.

Public comment and questions are encouraged during this agenda item, in accordance with Town Council Rules.

ACTION: The Council will consider a resolution.
Summary:
The Town of Falmouth has been working with the Towns of Cumberland and Yarmouth to explore options to expand natural gas distribution lines throughout the three communities. In 2012, the towns conducted a feasibility analysis that created interest from natural gas utility companies. A request for proposal was designed by the towns and sent to natural gas companies. Two companies submitted proposals.

Staff from the three towns have analyzed the proposals and determined that the next step is to determine whether the communities would like to work with only one company. A presentation will be offered at the meeting. The Towns of Cumberland and Yarmouth will hold Council meetings on February 21 to receive the same presentation. The Falmouth Town Council will discuss this matter on February 25 and consider a resolution. Public comment and questions are encouraged during this agenda item, in accordance with Town Council Rules.

A special web page has been created on the Town's website. The following documents support this agenda item and can be found by clicking here.
