Subject:

Order to authorize staff to sell the Town’s 1995 Central States Pumper truck.

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.

Summary:

The Town replaced the 1995 pumper truck with the puchase of a new pumper truck in July. The Fire Department has kept the 1995 pumper in service, as a spare, in order to service all the other pumpers in the fleet. Service to the other pumpers is now complete and we no longer have a need for the 1995 pumper truck. The value of the old truck is greater than $10,000, which requires Town Council approval to dispose of the truck. Town Council authority is required, in accordance with Section 16-43 (Disposal of surplus property) of the Town’s Code of Ordinances. An order is attached.
