Public Hearing to receive input regarding the future of the Town of Falmouth partnership with the Greater Portland Transit District (METRO Bus).

ACTION: Council action may be considered in a separate agenda item.
Summary:
Councilor Tony Payne requested this item be on the agenda for a general discussion and Public Hearing concerning the Town's ongoing membership or partnership with Metro.

The controlling documents regarding the Town's partnership with Metro include By-Laws and a state law 30-A M.R.S.A Sec 3505. The By-Laws are attached. We have also attached a graph depicting ridership trends. The 2011 statistics include data through October 2011. The projected ridership for 2011 should equal or exceed ridership in 2010. Finally, the third attachment includes a monthy ridership data comparison for Falmouth Route 7 compared to all other routes in the district. The comparison also includes several years of history.
