Order to give written notice to the Greater Portland Transit District (METRO Bus) that the Town of Falmouth will withdraw from the District.

ACTION: Council action is anticipated.
Summary:
Councilor Tony Payne requested this item be on the agenda for consideration by the Town Council.  

The controlling documents regarding the Town's partnership with Metro include By-Laws and a state law 30-A M.R.S.A Sec 3505. The By-Laws are attached. We have also attached a graph depicting ridership trends. The 2011 statistics include data through October 2011. The projected ridership for 2011 should equal or exceed ridership in 2010. Finally, the third attachment includes a monthy ridership data comparison for Falmouth Route 7 compared to all other routes in the district. The comparison also includes several years of history.
