Subject:
Review of a staff memo regarding the preparation of a Route One South Infrastructure Improvement Plan.

ACTION: No Council action is anticipated.
Summary:
Last January the Town Council reviewed recommendations from the Community Development Committee (CDC) for Route One and set the policy direction for this project.

The Council’s direction included, besides zoning ordinance amendments, the preparation of an Infrastructure Improvement Plan for Route One South to help guide investments in this area. Such a plan is to coordinate all required improvements in the public right-of-way (ROW). This would include the section of Route One from Route 88 to the Turnpike Connector.

Staff prepared a memo outlining the scope of this plan, reason for bringing this forward at this time, and the projected timeline. The CDC reviewed this memo on March 16, 2011 and endorsed its recommendations.

Actual construction expenditures, not including those in the current, approved budget year, are subject to Council approval at a later date.
