The Owner of the Falmouth Shopping Center property, Falmouth Realty Associates, has expressed an interest in redeveloping and expanding development on its 61+ acre property, which likely could require a zoning amendment approval from Town Council. The Town Council has expressed interest in the redevelopment of vacant building space on this site and may have an interest in working with the property owner to accommodate development expansion, including mixed uses. The Town Council has also expressed interest in quality design and development of a master plan for this property, as well as continues to work on defining a vision for the Route 1 Corridor. To that end, Town staff and Owner
representatives have worked together on a proposed public process to develop a plan for a model, mixed use development at this site. Details of this proposed process are articulated in the attached memo. The Council is asked to review the proposed approach and provide feedback to staff and the property owner whether or not to move forward with it.
